Jakarta — Strengthening the response to Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TF-GBV) requires sustained coordination among law enforcement agencies, government institutions, victim protection organizations, and civil society organizations.
Against this backdrop, Woman & Children Resilience (WCR) Indonesia organized a Consolidation Meeting on TF-GBV Response on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, at the Tribeca Room, Hotel Park 5 Simatupang, South Jakarta. The meeting was part of a broader program to strengthen capacity and coordination in addressing gender-based violence in the digital environment.
The consolidation meeting provided a space to reflect on various challenges encountered in addressing TF-GBV cases while ensuring that ongoing interventions remain aligned toward common goals and objectives.
The discussions focused not only on technical aspects of investigation, but also on broader considerations, including survivors’ needs, referral mechanisms, electronic evidence, inter-agency coordination, and the need to strengthen the capacity of law enforcement personnel.
One of the key concerns discussed was the increasingly complex nature of TF-GBV cases. Incidents of violence can occur across multiple digital platforms, while electronic traces can be rapidly moved, deleted, redistributed, or exploited to perpetrate further harm against survivors.
This situation requires law enforcement personnel to possess not only technical capabilities but also a strong understanding of gender perspectives and survivor protection.
The consolidation meeting also served as a forum to align the materials and approaches for the TF-GBV Response Training for POLRI Investigators, which constitutes one of the key stages of the program.
Through the consolidation process, WCR Indonesia and its partners sought to ensure that strengthening investigators’ capacities goes beyond an understanding of regulations and can be effectively applied in actual case handling. The outcomes of the discussions served as one of the foundations for refining the training materials, learning strategies, and cross-stakeholder coordination mechanisms.
WCR Indonesia continues to advocate for strengthened law enforcement capacity and cross-sectoral coordination to bring about meaningful improvements in the quality of services and responses to TF-GBV cases in Indonesia
