In response to the water crisis issue affecting the resilience of women and children, Women and Children Resilience (WCR), in collaboration with Daya Wanita PAM Jaya DKI Jakarta, organized a smart nutrition and water resilience education program for stunting prevention on February 10–11, 2026. The activities were held in three locations in North Jakarta: Samper Timur, Rorotan, and Penjaringan.
The event was officially opened by the Chairwoman of Daya Wanita PAM Jaya. During the program, it was emphasized that stunting prevention is not only related to health aspects but is also part of efforts to strengthen family and community resilience. Women and children are the most affected groups, while also playing a crucial role in determining the quality of future generations.
On the same occasion, Margaretha Hanita, as Director of WCR, delivered a presentation on the connection between water resilience and maternal and child health. She highlighted that women, especially mothers, play a central role in maintaining family health, from ensuring food hygiene to managing household sanitation.
The quality of human resources is an important indicator of urban development. Access to safe and sustainable clean water is one of the key determinants of quality of life, particularly for mothers and children. When access to clean water is fulfilled, clean and healthy living practices can be implemented more effectively, supporting children’s growth and development while reducing the risk of stunting.
This activity featured several competent speakers in their respective fields, including Dr. Margaretha Hanita, M.Si., Prof. Suswandari, M.Pd., Mohammad Furqan, S.K.M., M.K.M., and Dr. Ahmad Faridi, S.P., M.K.M. The speakers presented the importance of balanced nutrition since pregnancy, exclusive breastfeeding, and the implementation of healthy eating patterns for toddlers as key steps in preventing stunting.
It was also emphasized that limited access to clean water can increase the risk of infectious diseases, such as diarrhea and intestinal worms, which ultimately hinder children’s growth and development. Therefore, the role of Daya Wanita PAM Jaya is crucial in supporting the provision and distribution of safe, high-quality, and sustainable clean water, especially in densely populated areas such as North Jakarta.
In addition to nutrition and clean water issues, the event also highlighted the theme of women, youth, and children resilience. Women were encouraged to serve as primary managers of family health, youth as educational agents within their communities, and children as a group entitled to grow up in a healthy and safe environment.
The enthusiasm of participants was evident from the active discussions held at each location. Through the synergy between WCR in providing nutrition education and Daya Wanita PAM Jaya in strengthening water resilience, stunting prevention efforts are expected to become more effective and sustainable.
The collaboration between WCR and Daya Wanita PAM Jaya represents a shared commitment that building family resilience is not only about food and nutrition, but also about access to clean water as a basic necessity. With the support of various stakeholders, it is hoped that a healthier, more resilient, and future-ready generation of Jakarta can be realized.
